Electric panel heaters are another simple choice. Underfloor heating gives even comfort but responds slowly and can be expensive to retrofit beneath an existing floor. The right answer depends on glazing, insulation, floor construction and how often the room is occupied.
Why conservatories are difficult to heat
Large glazed areas create a high heat-loss surface and can produce cold downdraughts near windows. Solar gain may make the room hot in the afternoon, while the same space becomes uncomfortable soon after sunset. A system that runs on a fixed schedule can therefore waste energy when the room is empty.
Start with draught seals, roof and window performance, blinds and ventilation. Heating cannot compensate for severe fabric losses indefinitely, and any installer should ask about the construction before recommending output.
Infrared panels versus other conservatory heating
