Infrared heating vs oil-filled radiators?
Infrared panels and oil-filled radiators are both direct electric heating, so neither has a lower electricity cost for the same delivered heat. Infrared can feel warm quickly and free floor space; oil-filled radiators provide gentle convected heat and are often portable. Installation, room use and control matter more than the label.

Our honest verdict
For a permanent, tidy installation with zonal radiant comfort, infrared has a practical advantage. For occasional use or a rented room where no fixed work is wanted, an oil-filled radiator may be more appropriate. Both need sensible run-time control.
